1. Rummy Connect Is a Game of Skill, Not Gambling

Rummy is legally and judicially recognised in India as a game of predominant skill and not a game of chance. The Supreme Court of India, in State of Andhra Pradesh v. K. Satyanarayana (1968) and subsequently in K.R. Lakshmanan v. State of Tamil Nadu (1996), held that rummy requires memory, calculation, arrangement, and strategic skill, and therefore falls outside the scope of “gambling” or “betting” under the Public Gambling Act, 1867. Multiple High Courts, including the Madras, Karnataka, and Rajasthan High Courts, have reaffirmed this position for online formats of the game, including rummy played for stakes.

Rummy Connect operates strictly as a skill-gaming platform. Outcomes on our Platform are determined by a player’s ability to form valid sequences and sets, not by chance. Nothing on this Platform should be construed as gambling, betting, or a game of chance under Indian law.
